The annual fall membership meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 17th at 7 p.m. All past, present, and prospective members are strongly urged to attend. Some things that will be discussed: league structure for 2016, bonspiel planning, and curling club improvements, to name just a few. This is also a good time for new curlers to get their teams organized and signed up for league, as well as getting acclimated to the club and meeting a few of the other members. Hope to see you there!
The 2016 bonspiel schedule is official! The Greenspiel will take place 1/8-1/9 or just 1/9 depending on the number of teams we get signed up. The triathlon is scheduled for 2/13, and the Spring Open is scheduled for 3/31-4/3.
Well we are rapidly approaching that wonderful time of year again; no not Christmas, the start of the 2016 curling season! Those of you who might want to start a new team this year or perhaps even just sub to find out what we’re all about, feel free to let Corey Younggren know either here on Facebook or by calling or texting 2189882408. The Spring open bonspiel went off without a hitch once again two weekends ago, with 30 teams competing from Winnipeg, MB to St. Paul, MN and everywhere in between! Team Baldwin from Vita, MB pulled off a victory against the hometown rink of Skyler Slusar in 8 ends to take the first event honors. The second event title was shared by the Fenner rink of Bemidji and the Roland rink of Grand Forks. 3rd event went to the Gartner rink out of St. Paul, and last but not least 4th event went to the Nick Anderson rink. Thank you to everyone that participated in this great tournament as well as all of you that stopped by to spectate. It was the perfect ending to yet another great year of curling in Hallock!
Wednesday, January 7 we will be hosting an Open Curling/Learn to curl night at the club starting at 6 p.m. Come in and hone your skills in time for the first league matches on Thursday!
